Niara Sterling is a multifaceted artist who is especially known as a DJ and Music Supervisor. Originally from Springfield, Virginia, she began her music career in Washington, D.C. It didn’t take Niara long to realize that music is one of her passions, and she decided to relocate to Brooklyn to explore music as a full-time career.
In the span of this budding career, Niara has become an integral leader in the renaissance of community, style, and expression. Niara’s sound is in continual evolution. Currently, her musical style embodies rhythm, blues, soul, jazz, funk, gospel, hip-hop, house, and various genres from the diaspora. While maintaining a decorated DJ portfolio, Niara has worked with Ari Lennox, Easy Mo Bee, Masego, Moses Sumney, Natasha Diggs, DJ Spinna, Talib Kweli, and many more. Her reputation has landed her features in publications such as Essence, OkayAfrica, and Vogue. Inside the booth, Niara has produced and performed at several events such as Everyday People, Colors Studio, and PERK.
